In this picturesque Catalan fishing village, located just a few kilometres from the Spanish border, narrow pedestrian streets reveal charming stone houses with pastel-coloured façades. Lively markets, restaurants, shops and galleries stay open until late in the evening.
The village has three sheltered bays with beautiful sandy beaches, as well as the superb 13th-century Royal Castle, now a museum open to the public.
All around, the promenade is dotted with artists exhibiting their work and moored fishing boats, contributing to the unique atmosphere of the place.
Access: Collioure has a railway station. From Barcelona, you can reach the town by train, bus or hire car.
There is also a rail link via Perpignan if you are flying into Montpellier.
